Pool Locations

Blake School Pool, 110 Blake Road, Hopkins 62 Crosstown west – 169 north – east on Excelsior Blvd. – south on Blake Road. Blake School entrance is on the right.  (See entrance procedures below!)

Edinborough Park, 7700 York Ave. So., Edina Highway 100 to 70th Street – east on 70th Street – south on York. Seven blocks to Edinborough Park on the right. Park in rear.  (See entrance procedures below!)

Valley View, 6750 Valley View Road, Edina 62 Crosstown to Tracy Avenue – south on Tracy (turns into Valley View) – right at second driveway on the right. Enter door #1.

South View, 4725 South View Lane, Edina Highway 100 to Vernon (50th) – south on frontage road to South View Lane. Left on South View Lane . Enter at Door 6.

Edina Aquatic Center (outdoor pool), 4300 West 66th Street, Edina 55436 - just west of Southdale Shopping Mall on 66th Street.  Managed by Edina Park and Recreation.

Following are the appropriate procedures for entering and exiting the Edinborough Park facility.

1. To enter the building, please walk past the Park office and continue to the security door past the rest rooms ~ at the entrance closest to the Track. This will allow better access control for the facility management. You do not need to pay the park entrance fee if you are attending the Gators practice.
2. For liability and security reasons, doors may not be propped open.
3. Coaches and swimmers should be the only people on deck during practice.
4. ESC coaches will supervise swimmer departure from practice. Swimmers may not leave practice and exit the building without being accompanied by a parent or authorized adult.
5. ESC swimmers can be excused to the locker room area only when accompanied by an authorized adult.
6. Parents are to use the rest rooms on the main level next to the Park office.
7. Please place all swimmer possessions in a bag or locker within the locker room.
8. Please facilitate timely swimmer departure for all practice sessions from the locker rooms. Adult swimmers may be arriving at this time.
9. All swimmers must be picked up within 10 minutes of completion of practice. A Coach will remain with all swimmers until an authorized adult arrives. A late fee will be incurred for late parent arrivals.
10. Only pick-up and drop-off are permitted in the cul-de-sac. Police will issue tickets.
11. Siblings of Gator swimmers may play in the park for a discounted fee of $3.00.  Siblings will not be allowed in the park "to watch".
12. Parents may NOT sit on the scooters in the Great Hall.  The scooters are intended for child use only.

BLAKE PARKING AND ENTRANCE PROCEDURES

How best to drop off and pick up your swimmers at Blake
Drop off of swimmers:
Parents have two areas where they may drop off their swimmers.
1) From Blake Road enter the Blake compound, follow the driveway all the way to the south parking lot which is connected to the Blake circular drive. May drop off swimmers in the circular drive or from the parking lot. Swimmers will walk to the courtyard, take the steps in the back right corner and enter the double doors at the bottom of those steps. (Parents and swimmers may NOT attend swimming via the hill sidewalk which is at the northeast corner of the Blake buildings. Absolutely no vehicles up this sidewalk hill. This is a rule of Blake School.)

2) There is a relatively new parking lot which is located at the Aamoth athletic parking lot. From the intersection of Blake Road and Excelsior Boulevard, go west on Excelsior Boulevard past the soccer bus area and turn left at the first entrance. You will be entering the athletic parking lot. Swimmers may walk from the parking lot along the football field and arrive at the back of the courtyard. From this perspective, you will enter the double doors on the left.

Edina Gators will only enter through the double doors which enter the locker room area. (Looking down from the courtyard, they are the doors on the right.) The Coach will be at these doors from ten minutes before practice until fifteen minutes after the start of practice. Swimmers and parents must enter between these times! Parents interested in watching practice must enter at this time. Due to security concerns for Blake students and our swimmers, the Blake doors will be LOCKED fifteen minutes after the start of practice and no one will have access. Coaches will be at the doors at the end of practice.

If your swimmer needs to leave practice early, please have them present a note requesting an early dismissal to their Coach at the beginning of practice. Parents please be aware that you will have to meet your swimmer outside at the double doors if they are leaving early.

Picking up your swimmers:
1) Swimmers walking down the sidewalk/driveway which has the gate at the bottom will not be supervised.

2) Parents parking in the athletic parking lot on the west side of the campus must walk up to the double doors to meet their swimmer. Coaches will not supervise the departure of swimmers to the athletic parking lot.

3) Supervised departure: Coaches will wait at the pool for all swimmers to exit the pool. Coaches will wait at the locker rooms for all swimmers to exit the locker rooms. Coaches will walk through the courtyard and wait with all swimmers standing at the circular drive. Please pick up all swimmers no later than ten minutes after the END of practice. (Please respect the coaches personal time and pick up your swimmers on time.)
